Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Rekis (ranked 15437 p4p, 819 weight class) and Mason Norris (ranked 21859 p4p, 806 weight class). Rekis comes to the ring accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rekis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mason Norris!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rekis misses with a two punch combination.
Norris is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Norris is looking to chop away at Rekis's legs.
Norris looks to land a combination but Rekis avoids it well.
Rekis lands a leg kick that knocks Norris off balance momentarily.
Nice body punch from Norris.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rekis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Norris throws a counter combo.
Rekis wants to clinch but Norris slips to the side
and Norris counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Norris lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Norris digs a right hand underneath Rekis's ribcage. Rekis let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Rekis has had enough of the clinch but Norris keeps him there for the moment.

Norris lands a body shot in the clinch.
Norris lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rekis backwards.
Norris lands a nice elbow.
A nice right hand lands inside from Norris.
Norris pushes Rekis back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Norris lands with a right to the head.
Norris digs a right hand underneath Rekis's ribcage. Rekis let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Norris pushes Rekis back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rekis is looking to take this one to the mat.
Norris lands a damaging elbow.
Norris lands a hook that snaps the head of Rekis backwards.
Norris tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Norris lands an elbow inside that Rekis shrugs off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rekis blocks an elbow strike.
Norris goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Norris swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Norris throws an elbow but it misses.
Norris lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Norris.
Norris throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Norris.

Norris breaks from the clinch.
Rekis is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rekis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Norris tries to avoid it but Rekis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Norris to the ground. Norris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Rekis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rekis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Norris paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Norris throws a leg kick but Rekis sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Rekis checks a low kick from Norris.

Norris takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Norris has Rekis up against the ropes in a clinch.
Rekis is trying to maintain a safe position but Norris gets an underhook and turns Rekis into the ropes.
Norris throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rekiss head.
Rekis is looking to control Norris's arms but Norris gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rekis has his back to the ropes.
Norris lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rekis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Norris lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Rekis blocks a body shot from Norris.

Norris breaks from the clinch.
Norris misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rekis.

Oooooh!!! Norris has knocked Rekis down with a huge combo! Norris steps away and waves a wobbly Rekis back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Norris has managed to clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Norris.
Norris lands a nice uppercut.
Norris doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Rekis breaks the clinch.
Rekis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A cross from Norris lands.
Rekis moves away from the strike by Norris.
Norris scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rekis doesn't seem bothered though.
Rekis darts in looking for a takedown but Norris gets double underhooks and turns Rekis into the ropes.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rekis misses with a takedown
and Norris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rekis is breathing heavily.
Norris misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Norris dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Norris getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rekis misses with a takedown attempt - Norris sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Norris throws out a loose jab but Rekis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rekis doesn't manage to clinch there - Norris circles away.
Norris lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mason Norris seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Norris lands a nice hook to Rekis's body. Rekis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rekis tries for a takedown but Norris sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Norris. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Norris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rekis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Norris lands with an uppercut that bounces Rekis off the ropes and back into range.
Rekis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Norris circles away quickly and effectively.
Norris connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rekis. Rekis circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Norris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rekis moves away.
Rekis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Norris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Norris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Norris tests Rekis's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Rekis is rocked!
The crowd cheers as Norris lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rekis doesn't seem phased though.
Oh Rekis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
John Rekis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Norris! Rekis is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mason Norris!
A relieved looking Mason Norris thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
John Rekis spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll be back!!!'.
