Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch McDanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutierrez's entrance music is Hoy Gano Yo. A fine choice. McDanton has chosen Solja Boy Tell Um as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Luis Gutierrez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luis Gutierrez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Butch McDanton! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutierrez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Gutierrez stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. McDanton stuffs the takedown. McDanton misses with the combination.
McDanton keeps the fight on the outside. Gutierrez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gutierrez lands in his opponent's guard. McDanton looks gassed! Gutierrez looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Gutierrez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. McDanton throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. McDanton looking for a guillotine here but Gutierrez defends easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gutierrez tries to close the distance and clinch but McDanton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McDanton gets caught flat footed, as Gutierrez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gutierrez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Butch McDanton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McDanton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gutierrez is looking to clinch. Some wild striking there from McDanton.
McDanton takes a kick to the side of the head. McDanton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gutierrez. Gutierrez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fight stays on the outside here - Gutierrez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gutierrez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gutierrez tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Gutierrez trying to control the action but McDanton is working from the bottom. The fighters are battling for position here. McDanton manages to regain full guard. Nice work. McDanton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

McDanton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gutierrez! Gutierrez is mounted but he's throwing punches.

Gutierrez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McDanton as he jumps to the side. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gutierrez. McDanton is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McDanton can do anything to dispel that myth. Gutierrez stands up and beckons McDanton to his feet. McDanton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gutierrez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McDanton to the mat! McDanton manages to get full guard. McDanton throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gutierrez uses it to pass to side control.
McDanton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. McDanton is refusing to be controlled, as Gutierrez sits in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDanton wants to improve his position but Gutierrez is controlling well.
McDanton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! McDanton misses with a wild combination.
A big left from McDanton misses. McDanton stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gutierrez. Gutierrez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDanton but McDanton pushes him off and we're back to square one. A big left from McDanton misses. Gutierrez misses with a double jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gutierrez. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Gutierrez. That's going to take a lot out of him. McDanton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gutierrez counters with a series of strikes. McDanton will be more careful next time no doubt. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from McDanton in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Gutierrez has closed the distance and engaged McDanton in a clinch.

so Gutierrez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gutierrez lands a couple of elbows. McDanton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gutierrez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. McDanton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

McDanton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McDanton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gutierrez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDanton tries to roll over but Gutierrez keeps him under control.

and Gutierrez counters with a single leg into guard. McDanton didn't expect that. Gutierrez forces his way into half guard. Luis Gutierrez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gutierrez trying to control the pace. McDanton is trying to control but can't.

McDanton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Gutierrez wants to control from the top but McDanton keeps moving. Gutierrez thows a big elbow that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No joy there for McDanton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Butch McDanton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Luis Gutierrez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McDanton misses with the combination.
Gutierrez shoots in and bounces McDanton off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Gutierrez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gutierrez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
