Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Lloyd (ranked 2340 p4p, 338 weight class) and Paddy McTomlin (ranked 5277 p4p, 644 weight class). Frank Lloyd could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Paddy McTomlin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Lloyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paddy McTomlin!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McTomlin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McTomlin wants to control but Lloyd is keeping him busy.
Lloyd is trying to get back to his feet.
Lloyd gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
McTomlin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Lloyd is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Midnight MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Lloyd is not content to let McTomlin control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McTomlin tries to pass to full mount but Lloyd defends it.
Lloyd wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McTomlin wants to free his trapped foot but Lloyd is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lloyd pushes McTomlin off looking to stand but McTomlin dives back in and keeps control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McTomlin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Paddy McTomlin has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Lloyd. Those never looked like landing.
Lloyd misses with a hook. McTomlin ducked under it nicely.
McTomlin tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Lloyd pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

McTomlin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McTomlin showed some decent athleticism there.
McTomlin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lloyd with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McTomlin seems to be working for a kimura but Lloyd defends the submission attempt.
McTomlin stops Lloyd from getting back to his feet.

Lloyd kicks off McTomlin and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lloyd getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Lloyd stuffs the takedown.
Lloyd lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lloyd leaves McTomlin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lloyd tests McTomlin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lloyd jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McTomlin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lloyd pinned against the cage. Lloyd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Frank Lloyd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paddy McTomlin.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lloyd misses with a looping left.
Frank Lloyd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lloyd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McTomlin.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lloyd.
McTomlin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lloyd.
McTomlin blocks a jab.
Lloyd works McTomlin's body with a nice hook.
Lloyd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McTomlin takes a jab right on the kisser.


That has opened up Paddy McTomlin's cut even more.
Lloyd is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

McTomlin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lloyd quickly recovers to half guard.

McTomlin seems to be looking for submissions.
McTomlin looks winded!
McTomlin stops Lloyd from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McTomlin stands up and beckons Lloyd to join him on the feet.
Lloyd stuffs the takedown attempt from McTomlin. McTomlin gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lloyd throws a shot from downtown. McTomlin moves away and avoids it.
McTomlin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lloyd.
McTomlin shoots in looking for a takedown but Lloyd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McTomlin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McTomlin fails to land the takedown.
Lloyd scores with a jab. McTomlin acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
McTomlin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McTomlin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Lloyd dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Paddy McTomlin's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lloyd is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McTomlin.
Lloyd cracks McTomlin with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jab, jab by Lloyd - just one landing.


McTomlin is rocked!
Lloyd cracks McTomlin with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Lloyd!
After the fight, Frank Lloyd was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
