Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Semmy Cobb (ranked 429 p4p, 45 weight class) and Jake Butler (ranked 751 p4p, 81 weight class). Cobb comes to the cage accompanied by You dropped the Bomb on me. Semmy Cobb has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Semmy Cobb! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Butler! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Butler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cobb to the mat! Cobb manages to get full guard. Butler looking to pass the guard. Cobb wants to get back to his feet but Butler is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cobb utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Butler throwing strikes but missing. Butler is looking to work some ground and pound but Cobb has wrist control. Butler stands and throws Cobb's legs to the side, diving into side control. Butler wants to take a breather but Cobb manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Butler. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butler connects with a couple of short punches. Butler postures up in Cobb's guard and throws a big left but Cobb blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butler throws a big right hand that misses. Cobb will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Butler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cobb's guard. Butler works his way into full mount! Butler pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Semmy Cobb has been cut. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Butler lands a nice shot to the head. Butler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A nice elbow there by Butler. Butler throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cobb because Butler loaded up on that one. Butler punching from mount but Cobb doing a good job of avoiding damage. Butler won't let Cobb get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Butler cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Butler postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Cobb in real trouble here! The ref calls for Cobb to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Butler! Jake Butler is the new heavyweight champion! A very excited looking Jake Butler made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
