The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
marshall shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kid looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
marshall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kid wants to stand up but marshall is controlling him.

marshall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and marshall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
marshall tries to free his leg and advance position but Kid is retaining full guard.

marshall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Some wild striking there from Kid.
Billy Kid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
marshall moves away from the strike by Kid.
Kid misses with a series of wild punches.
marshall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kid will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

marshall passes the guard and advances to mount!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
marshall is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by marshall!
