Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Kasperski (ranked 4908 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bbequenbawer Alvarez (ranked 6708 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dawid Kasperski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bbequenbawer Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alvarez wants it to stay on the feet. Alvarez looks winded! Kasperski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alvarez as he jumps to the side. Nice sprawl there from Kasperski as Alvarez shoots in. It looked like Kasperski was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Kasperski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvarez, pushing him back against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Kasperski.
Kasperski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kasperski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alvarez as he jumps to the side. Alvarez shapes to counter with a head kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawid Kasperski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kasperski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alvarez did well to prevent Kasperski getting side control. Kasperski controlling the action here. Kasperski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kasperski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kasperski is working for a kimura but Alvarez is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Well, if Kasperski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Alvarez wants to control but Kasperski is keeping busy and won't allow it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kasperski is taking a breather. Alvarez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kasperski darts in and clinches Alvarez up against the cage. Kasperski has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alvarez uses from the top position. Alvarez prevents Kasperski from getting back to his feet. Kasperski throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kasperski wants to sweep but no luck. Kasperski is pulling down on Alvarez's head. It's preventing any offense from Alvarez, at least for the moment. Alvarez controlling from the top position. Kasperski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez preventing the sweep. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are working up against the cage. Kasperski manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Kasperski has Alvarez pressed against the cage.
Kasperski changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alvarez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kasperski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters circling a little - Kasperski finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Kasperski moves into the clinch. Kasperski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Alvarez can do to turn this around? Kasperski pulls Alvarez into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarez won't allow Kasperski to sweep him here. Kasperski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Alvarez is breathing heavily. Kasperski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alvarez is controlling him. Kasperski wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kasperski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alvarez but Alvarez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kasperski dives in and grabs Alvarez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes down on Kasperski's head and hops out. Despite the aggression on Alvarez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Horrible takedown attempt by Kasperski or perhaps it was just good defense by Alvarez, which made it look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawid Kasperski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kasperski shoots in but no luck this time. Kasperski rushes Alvarez and presses him up against the cage. Kasperski breaks the clinch.

Alvarez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Kasperski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alvarez as he avoids it easily. Kasperski looks for a takedown but Alvarez sprawls well. Alvarez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alvarez wants it to stay on the feet. Alvarez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Alvarez throws a head kick that misses and Kasperski counters by clinching up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alvarez is defending well against a takedown attempt. Alvarez is trying to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A bit of stalling here from Kasperski.
Kasperski lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kasperski jumps guard and drags Alvarez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kasperski managing to control the position. Alvarez throwing strikes but missing. Alvarez looking to sit in guard and control but Kasperski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dawid Kasperski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters roll with the hold and Alvarez manages to kick Kasperski off! Kasperski jumps back into Alvarez's guard. Kasperski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kasperski looking to control the position here, rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kasperski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvarez is fending him off so far but Kasperski persists. Nope, Alvarez circles away and we're back to standing. Kasperski fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Kasperski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alvarez defends it nicely. Kasperski fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawid Kasperski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alvarez is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kasperski pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Alvarez back to the cage. Kasperski follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kasperski looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Alvarez! Alvarez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kasperski presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Kasperski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alvarez on the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kasperski controlling the position easily from mount. Kasperski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kasperski looking to finish with strikes here!

And that's the end of the fight! Dawid Kasperski showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kasperski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
