Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Embree (ranked 4876 p4p, 0 weight class) and Badr Houdoe (ranked 3140 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Badr Houdoe!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houdoe stuffs the takedown.
Embree gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Houdoe counters with a series of strikes. Embree will be more careful next time no doubt.
Embree shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Houdoe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Embree gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Embree stands and throws Houdoe's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Embree thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Embree closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Houdoe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Houdoe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Embree is trying to pull guard but Houdoe has him pressed against the cage.

Houdoe is trying to drag Embree to the mat but Embree just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Houdoe is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Embree doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Houdoe.

Houdoe is stalling here. Embree is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Houdoe seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Embree has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Houdoe is trying to control Embree's posture but Embree avoids it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Embree throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Houdoe works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Houdoe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Embree needs to keep his hands up - Houdoe had a free shot at his head there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Embree accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Houdoe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Embree is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Houdoe has latched onto it... Big trouble! Houdoe pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Embree is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Houdoe!
