PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerede Baya (ranked 3694 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salahdine Parnasse (ranked 5077 p4p, 0 weight class). Parnasse has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baya throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Baya closes the distance and clinches.
Baya tries to score a body lock takedown but Parnasse shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Parnasse can't get the takedown.
Parnasse looks winded!

Baya breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baya closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parnasse circles away.

Baya scores with a decent looking hook.
Baya shoots in for a double leg but Parnasse sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Baya has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Parnasse uses from the top position.

Baya dives in for a single leg takedown but Parnasse sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Parnasse is trying to force a seperation but Baya has the dominant position.

Baya gets control of Parnasse's arms and successfully pulls guard. Baya will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Baya has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Parnasse is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Baya.

Parnasse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Parnasse shoots for a double leg takedown but Baya sprawls well. He's pushed Parnasse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Baya went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Baya drops Parnasse with a beautiful combination! Parnasse stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Baya is looking for the KO!

Baya is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Parnasse can do to turn this around?
