Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Blanco (ranked 4090 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Edwards (ranked 4192 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Edwards! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards looks to land a combination. Blanco sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nice sprawl there from Blanco as Edwards shoots in. Edwards forces Blanco back against the cage and clinches. Edwards tries for a takedown. No joy.

Alexander Blanco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Edwards. Blanco decides to pull guard. Blanco preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Blanco throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Edwards sitting in guard here, content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blanco wants to stand and escape but Edwards is having none of it. Blanco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Edwards cracks the inside of Blanco's front leg. Blanco defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards has managed to clinch.

Blanco closes the distance and clinches up with Edwards, looking for a takedown. Blanco pushes Edwards against the cage but Edwards circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blanco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Edwards.

Edwards fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blanco, pushing him back against the cage. Blanco tries to circle away but Edwards has him pinned against the cage. Edwards has his foot on Blanco's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blanco works his way back into a safe position though. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blanco fails with a takedown attempt. Alexander Blanco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Edwards is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Blanco stuffs the takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Edwards comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Edwards has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
