Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Kratenberg (ranked 5201 p4p, 511 weight class) and Azamat Wafflestomper (ranked 5321 p4p, 522 weight class). Both these fighters had to take extra time to make weight as they missed the initial 185lb limit. Tim Kratenberg came in at 187.1 and Azamat Wafflestomper came in at 186.7 but after the extra two hours, both guys managed to get within the one pound allowance. No doubt it will have affected them physically though, so let's see if that has an impact on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Azamat Wafflestomper! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kratenberg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wafflestomper avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kratenberg. Wafflestomper is not content to let Kratenberg control the position. Wafflestomper wants to control but Kratenberg postures up. Wafflestomper prevents Kratenberg from improving position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wafflestomper struggling a bit here. Kratenberg landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wafflestomper avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kratenberg. Kratenberg sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Wafflestomper is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kratenberg grinds an elbow into Wafflestomper's temple. Wafflestomper can't do much from the bottom here. Wafflestomper takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kratenberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wafflestomper on the ground. Wafflestomper defending against the ground and pound. Kratenberg looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Wafflestomper is avoiding damage well.
Wafflestomper is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kratenberg off and has taken his back! Wafflestomper wants to control but Kratenberg is keeping busy. Kratenberg looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Kratenberg is trying to get back to his feet but Wafflestomper has full control of the position and if anything, Kratenberg has just worked his way into a worse spot. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kratenberg can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kratenberg manages to stand up with Wafflestomper still on his back. Eventually Wafflestomper drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Wafflestomper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kratenberg is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wafflestomper's half guard. Wafflestomper trying to control here.
Kratenberg wants to pass to mount but Wafflestomper is defending the position. Wafflestomper controlling the position well. Kratenberg stalling away here and it's allowed Wafflestomper to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wafflestomper keeping moving, preventing Kratenberg from controlling successfully. Kratenberg scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kratenberg is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kratenberg working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wafflestomper has momentary wrist control but Kratenberg slips an elbow through the middle. Kratenberg distracts Wafflestomper with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wafflestomper looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kratenberg is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wafflestomper can do to turn this around? Wafflestomper looking to control.

Kratenberg tries to free his leg and advance position but Wafflestomper is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wafflestomper is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kratenberg keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wafflestomper's head. Wafflestomper is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kratenberg stays in close to Wafflestomper's body and controls the position. Wafflestomper working a defensive guard but Kratenberg manages to pass into side control anyway.
Wafflestomper is looking for a sweep. Kratenberg scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kratenberg scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Wafflestomper is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Kratenberg can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
