Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richie Miles! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Miles on the wrong end of a nice hook. Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miles circles away quickly and effectively. Despite the aggression on Miles's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Miles shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santos's guard. Miles is pushing down on Santos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santos is fighting to maintain full guard but Miles has managed to sneak the leg through. Santos is not content to let Miles control the position. Santos tries to get to full guard but Miles has control of the leg. Miles wants to pass to mount but Santos is defending the position. Santos is looking to improve his position.
Santos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Santos tries to get out of the position. Miles is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos is looking to control Miles's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santos avoid being mounted? Miles keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miles on the ground. Santos is refusing to be controlled, as Miles sits in half guard. Miles looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Santos is looking for a sweep. Miles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Miles is trying for a kimura here. Santos looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Miles wins by kimura!
