Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Edwards (ranked 3398 p4p, 0 weight class) and Assan Karim Chorr (ranked 4475 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Assan Karim Chorr!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Chorr takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Edwards shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chorr defends it nicely.
Edwards misses with a takedown
and Chorr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Edwards thinking.
Edwards keeps the fight on the outside.
Chorr tries to close the distance and clinch but Edwards swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chorr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Edwards is fending him off so far but Chorr persists. Nope, Edwards circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edwards has Chorr up against the cage in a clinch.
Chorr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Edwards's efforts to push away.

Chorr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Edwards has closed the distance and engaged Chorr in a clinch.
Edwards blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Edwards tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Chorr tries to circle away but Edwards has him pinned against the cage.
Edwards is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chorr is defending well.
Edwards's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Chorr changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Edwards fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Edwards tries to counter by clinching up but Chorr breaks away and moves out of range.
A lazy left from Chorr finds it's target.
Chorr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chorr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Edwards pinned against the cage. Edwards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No luck for Chorr with that takedown attempt.
Edwards displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chorr.

Edwards clinches.

Chorr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Edwards takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Chorr shoots in but no luck this time.
Edwards avoids the head kick by Chorr.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Edwards.

Edwards pushes Chorr up against the cage in a clinch.
Edwards drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Chorr gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Edwards is trying to break the clinch but Chorr is controlling him.
Chorr tries for a takedown. No joy.
Edwards jumps guard but Chorr stands there with Edwards around his waist. Edwards gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Edwards goes for a takedown attempt but Chorr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Chorr throws a head kick that Edwards semi-blocks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chorr plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
No luck for Edwards with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chorr tries to close the distance and clinch but Edwards swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Edwards goes for a double leg but Chorr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chorr continues to drive forward.
And Chorr tries to counter it with a takedown but Edwards pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Edwards shoots for a takedown but Chorr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chorr tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Chorr throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Chorr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Edwards bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Edwards tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Chorr manages to circle out of the way.

Edwards has closed the distance and engaged Chorr in a clinch.

Edwards lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chorr backwards.

Chorr pulls Edwards in close to prevent any damage.
Edwards slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Edwards wants to get up but he can't break Chorr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Chorr controls Edwards momentarily but Edwards frees himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Edwards wants to control from the top but Chorr keeps moving.
Edwards wants to stand but Chorr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Chorr keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully.
Chorr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chorr is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Edwards tries to roll over but Chorr keeps him under control.
Chorr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Assan Karim Chorr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Chorr throws a right and a left that both miss.
Michael Edwards is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Edwards tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chorr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chorr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chorr shoots for a double leg takedown but Edwards sprawls well. He's pushed Chorr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Chorr looking for a guillotine here but Edwards defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chorr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Edwards is working away from the top position though.

Edwards lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Chorr wants to get back to full guard.

Chorr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Edwards pulls his head out easily.
Edwards perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Edwards rushes Chorr and presses him up against the cage.
Chorr tries to pull guard but Edwards forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Chorr has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Edwards is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Edwards manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Edwards is adopting a defensive guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chorr controls from within his opponent's guard.
