The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schulz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ward looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ward darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Schulz lands a body shot.
Ward avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Schulz misses with a wild body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ward! But no joy.

Schulz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ward closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Schulz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Schulz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Schulz cracks Ward with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ward looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Schulz finish him?
Ward is rocked!
It looks like Conor Ward has been cut.
Schulz drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Ward's head, knocking him out cold! Schulz is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
