Burrows comes to the cage accompanied by Calm - No problem. Trevor Burrows has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Trevor Burrows! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wesley Whitaker ! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burrows throws a shot to the body.
Whitaker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Whitaker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A left lands for Burrows. Burrows throws a lazy uppercut
and Whitaker counters with a nice uppercut. Whitaker misses the shot to the body. Whitaker blocks a jab. Whitaker scores with a jab to the head.
Burrows wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The fight stays on the outside here - Whitaker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Whitaker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Burrows manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Burrows drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Whitaker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burrows has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Whitaker has managed to get both his arms back between Burrows's legs - danger averted. Burrows seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Burrows is on top in guard.
Burrows postures up in Whitaker 's guard and throws a big left but Whitaker blocks it. Whitaker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burrows. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitaker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Burrows passes Whitaker 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Whitaker blocking the ground and pound attempt from Burrows. Burrows wants to pass the guard but Whitaker is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whitaker can do anything to dispel that myth. Burrows throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Whitaker felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Burrows throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Burrows content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitaker is refusing to be controlled, as Burrows sits in half guard. Whitaker looks like he's trying to stand up.
Burrows thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Whitaker 's head. Whitaker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Whitaker is rocked! Burrows postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Whitaker bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Burrows and the fight is over!
