Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Bebe (ranked 1250 p4p, 128 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 23258 p4p, 491 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Bebe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bebe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lalla has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bebe is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Lalla looking to score a takedown here. Bebe is defending well but Lalla drives through and ends up in Bebe's guard.
Bebe seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Lalla advances to half guard.
Bebe is looking to improve his position.

Lalla is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bebe sees it coming and defends easily.
Bebe is trying to maintain the position but Lalla is very close to passing his half guard.
Bebe tries to get to full guard but Lalla has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bebe wants to control but Lalla is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lalla is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bebe is just riding it out for now. Lalla eventually gives up the hold.
Bebe desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Bebe tries to get to full guard but Lalla has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lalla is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lalla is trying to work for a kimura but Bebe is defending well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lalla looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bebe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lalla to the ground. Bebe is now in Lalla's guard.
Bebe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lalla looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Bebe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lalla dives on top into guard.


Lalla drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bebe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lalla has Bebe in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lalla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bebe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lalla is tightening it up a little... Bebe has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bebe reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bebe taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lalla!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jaro Lalla!
Jaro Lalla was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
The defeated Robert Bebe had this to say: 'I... I got nothing to say... '.
