Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Nevez (ranked 847 p4p, 100 weight class) and Basil Brubaker (ranked 2547 p4p, 284 weight class). Ruben Nevez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brubaker throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nevez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Brubaker has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brubaker there as he acknowledges the shot.
A punch lands to the side of Brubaker 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Brubaker throws the left hand but Nevez avoids the punch easily.
Nevez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brubaker.
Nevez moves out of range of the strikes.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Nevez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nevez dips a shoulder and cracks Brubaker with a mighty uppercut! Brubaker falls back against the cage and Nevez unloads with a barrage of strikes! Brubaker is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Nevez screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ruben Nevez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
