The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santa tries to clinch and Odinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Odinson. Santa looking for a guillotine here but Odinson defends easily.
Odinson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Santa has his foot on Odinson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Odinson works his way back into a safe position though. Odinson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Odinson pushing down on Santa's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Odinson is trying to control the action in half guard but Santa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Odinson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odinson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Odinson swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Thor Odinson! A relieved looking Thor Odinson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
