PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Narkun (ranked 6793 p4p, 731 weight class) and Lando Nallo (ranked 3960 p4p, 528 weight class). Nallo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fort Battle - Trevor Jones. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gregor Narkun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lando Nallo!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Narkun.
Narkun throws a sloppy head kick and Nallo moves out of range easily.

Narkun shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Narkun was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nallo can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
What's Nallo going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Nallo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Narkun.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nallo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Narkun throws an elbow but Nallo slips to the side and avoids it well.
Narkun trying to control the position but Nallo is working away.

Nallo tries to bench press Narkun off him but Narkun keeps the position.
Narkun wants to control but Nallo is keeping him busy.

Narkun decides to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nallo is defended easily by Narkun.

and Nallo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Narkun won't be happy with that.

Nallo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Narkun tries to bench press Nallo off him but Nallo keeps the position.
Narkun is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Nallo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Narkun has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nallo cracks Narkun with a big right hand but Narkun just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Narkun tries to escape but Nallo is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Narkun is not content to let Nallo control the position.
Nallo cracks Narkun with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Narkun manages to get back to half guard.
Nallo scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Nallo drops an elbow to the side of Narkun's head.

Nallo seems to be working for a kimura but Narkun defends the submission attempt.
Narkun controlling the position well.
Narkun is trying to stand up here but Nallo is controlling him well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nallo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Narkun!
Narkun slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Narkun has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nallo is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lando Nallo dominated that round.
That's time! Narkun's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Nallo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Narkun's guard.
Nallo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Nallo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Narkun manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nallo has Narkun in his guard.


Nallo pushes a forearm under Narkun's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Narkun is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lando Nallo!
