Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yun Gyu Yeob!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Melton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gyu Yeob feints the counter takedown.
Melton shoots for a double leg takedown but Gyu Yeob sprawls well. He's pushed Melton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Melton clinches up against the cage.
Gyu Yeob can't get the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Melton successfully pulls guard.

Gyu Yeob gets to his feet. Melton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gyu Yeob gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Melton to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Melton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Melton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gyu Yeob for as long as he can get away with.

Melton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Melton tries to clinch but Gyu Yeob is having none of it.

Melton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Melton won't allow Gyu Yeob to get back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Melton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Melton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gyu Yeob tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Melton misses with a takedown attempt - Gyu Yeob sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Melton shoots for a takedown but Gyu Yeob saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Melton misses with a wild combination.
Gyu Yeob changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Melton looks to land a combination but Gyu Yeob avoids it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Melton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gyu Yeob on his heels. He'll look to pass Gyu Yeob's guard now, I'm sure.
Melton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gyu Yeob is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Melton dives into side control.
The ground and pound from Melton seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Gyu Yeob is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Gyu Yeob takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Melton just content to control the position.
Melton continues to stall.

Gyu Yeob is wriggling around trying to escape but Melton has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Gyu Yeob taps out and Melton picks up the big win! Great work there by Melton!
