Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Simens (ranked 7225 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Jax (ranked 5836 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Simens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Jax! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jax counters with a straight right hand. Crunch! Simens slams his shin into Jax's torso. Simens gets a clinch. Simens is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jax is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Simens to the mat. Simens regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Simens has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jax off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Jax shoots in for a takedown but Simens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Simens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jax swivels and escapes. Jax has Simens up against the cage in a clinch.

Jax takes a shot to the head. Simens tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Simens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jax tries to pull guard but Simens holds him up against the cage and eventually Jax drops back down to his feet.
Simens is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jax gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Simens pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jax tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jax displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Simens. Simens tries to clinch up but Jax circles away and keeps his distance. Jax rushes Simens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Simens pulls guard effortlessly. Jax stopping the sweep attempt from Simens. Jax is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jax won't allow Simens to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Simens is breathing heavily. Jax throwing strikes but missing. Jax stays in close to Simens's body and controls the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Simens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jax doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jax manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jax passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simens wants to control but Jax postures up. Jax is looking to take a break and control but Simens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Simens tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jax has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jax misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jax shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simens's guard. Simens throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Simens trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Simens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jax should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Simens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ken Simens will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Simens closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jax quickly recovers to half guard. Jax wants to control but Simens is keeping busy.
Simens lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Simens prevents Jax from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simens is keen to just control but Jax is a slippery customer. Ken Simens overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jax wants to improve his position but Simens is controlling well.
Simens is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jax has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jax makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jax. Jax keeping moving, preventing Simens from controlling successfully. Jax wants to get back to his feet but Simens is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Simens engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jax wants to sweep here but Simens controlling him for the moment. Jax is pulling down on Simens's head. It's preventing any offense from Simens, at least for the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Simens closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jax is breathing heavily. Jax is looking to regain half guard here but Simens keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jax is looking to get back to his feet here but Simens is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jax's back. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Jax looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jax controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
What can Jax do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Simens trying to control momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Simens dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Jax takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Simens shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Simens was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Simens is staying tight to Jax's torso, preventing him from escaping. Jax is trying to get back to half guard. Simens working the head with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simens is working Jax over with some ground and pound from side control. Simens controlling from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simens working the head and body with strikes. Simens is trying to get an arm triangle but Jax is defending well. Jax tries to improve position but can't. Simens decides to stand back up. Simens steps back and let's Jax get back to his feet. Simens gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jax to score an easy takedown into full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jax's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Simens throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Simens trying to keep a closed guard but Jax is proving a slippery customer.
Jax controlling from the top position. Jax's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simens tries to land a sweep but no joy. Simens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jax wants to get back to full guard. Simens trying to pass the guard but Jax defending well. Simens seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jax does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Simens is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jax can do to turn this around?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Simens is thwarting Jax's attempts to control the position. Simens stands up out of the half guard. Simens fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jax darts in looking for a takedown but Simens gets double underhooks and turns Jax into the cage. Jax scores with a one two! Simens had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Max Jax has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ken Simens is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Simens throws a head kick but Jax moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Ken Simens showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simens, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
