PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jules Winfield (ranked 2567 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eusebio Lucas (ranked 7171 p4p, 737 weight class). Winfield comes to the cage accompanied by Pulp Fiction Theme. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winfield scores with a jab to the jaw.
Lucas closes the distance and clinches up with Winfield, looking for a takedown. Lucas pushes Winfield against the cage but Winfield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Winfield moves into the clinch successfully.
Lucas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lucas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Winfield clinches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Winfield takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Winfield has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lucas after a bit of a struggle.
Winfield changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lucas fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Winfield drives through and clinches with Lucas against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lucas is trying to stall.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Winfield breaks from the clinch.

Winfield drives through and clinches with Lucas against the cage.
Lucas tries to land knees in the clinch but Winfield avoids the damage to the body.
Winfield wants to take the fight to the mat but Lucas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Winfield has clasped his hands together around Lucas's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Winfield lands an elbow.
Winfield throws a strike aimed at the side of Lucas's head but Lucas avoids it well.

You can see the frustration on Lucas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lucas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Winfield connects with a decent elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Winfield grinds an elbow into Lucas's temple.
A big shot lands for Winfield! That's hurt Lucas! Will he recover? Winfield fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

After the fight, Jules Winfield was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
