Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shovel Knight (ranked 3023 p4p, 278 weight class) and Clint Cartwright (ranked 3056 p4p, 280 weight class). Knight comes to the cage accompanied by X Gon' Give It To Ya. Cartwright has chosen Total Domination as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright keeps the fight on the outside.
Knight changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Cartwright fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knight avoids it really well and circles away.
Knight uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cartwright.
Cartwright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Knight throws a low kick, looking for Cartwright's leg but Cartwright calmly moves out of range.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch but Cartwright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Knight closes the distance but Cartwright moves to the side
and Cartwright counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knight lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Cartwright shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Knight defends it nicely.
Shovel Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clint Cartwright.
Knight misses with a two punch combination.
Knight fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cartwright has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cartwright shoots for a double leg takedown but Knight sprawls well. He's pushed Cartwright's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Knight lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cartwright at a distance.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Knight lands with a cross.
Cartwright fails with a takedown attempt.
Cartwright has Knight up against the cage in a clinch.
Cartwright is looking to take this one to the mat.
A right hook to the body lands for Knight.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Knight.

Cartwright tries to pull guard but Knight won't allow it.
Knight throws a punch but it's blocked by Cartwright.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Knight.
Cartwright goes for a takedown attempt but Knight pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Knight jabs at Cartwright's body.
Knight wants to clinch up but Cartwright keeps it at a distance.
Knight fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cartwright throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Knight throws a head kick that half lands.
No luck for Cartwright with that takedown attempt.
Cartwright lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cartwright connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Knight forces Cartwright back against the cage and clinches.
Cartwright swings wildly with an uppercut but Knight uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cartwright has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Knight avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Knight working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Cartwright has Knight pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Knight manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cartwright tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Knight.
Cartwright has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Knight after a bit of a struggle.
Cartwright drops down looking for an ankle pick but Knight pulls his leg out and moves away.
Knight moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Cartwright looks winded!
Knight lands a nice shot to the body.
Knight looks to clinch
and Cartwright counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Knight moves into range and clinches up with Cartwright.
Knight gets underhooks to prevent Cartwright's takedown attempt.
Cartwright misses with a punch on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Knight works on Cartwright's body with a couple of short punches.

and Knight counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cartwright's knee momentarily.
Knight closes the distance and clinches.

Cartwright changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Knight fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Knight tests Cartwright's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cartwright is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
As Cartwright looks to move away, Knight throws a big counter combo but Cartwright just gets out of the way.
Knight uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
And that's the end of the fight!
Shovel Knight showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Knight has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
