Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Felix Fernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cleon Salmon!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Fernandez finds it's target.
Fernandez throws a right hand that Salmon ducks under and follows up with a left that Salmon also avoids with ease.
Salmon wants to clinch
and Fernandez counters with a nice body shot.
Fernandez misses with a jab to the body
and Salmon counters with a left to the body.
Salmon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fernandez kicks Salmon off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fernandez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Salmon.
Fernandez sneaks out the side door and pushes Salmon away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
A left lands for Fernandez.
Salmon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fernandez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Salmon asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Salmon tries to move to mount but Fernandez blocks the move with his legs.
Fernandez is looking to reverse the position.
Salmon prevents Fernandez from escaping the position.
Salmon working the ground and pound but Fernandez is defending the strikes.
Salmon controlling the position from side mount.
Fernandez bucks up and tries to throw Salmon off but instead Salmon has got his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Salmon is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Even with his hooks in, Salmon manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Fernandez trying to get back to his feet but Salmon is in full control for now.
Salmon controls the action.

Salmon is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fernandez is defending well though. Salmon let's go of the attempt for now.
Fernandez is trying to break free.
Salmon controlling the position well here. Fernandez rolled but Salmon kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fernandez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Salmon gets his way!
Salmon throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Fernandez is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

That was a close round but I would say that Felix Fernandez will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Fernandez tries a head kick but it misses.
Fernandez scores with a hook.
Salmon checks a low kick from Fernandez.
A punch combination from Fernandez misses.
Salmon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Salmon misses with an attempted mid kick.
A combination from Salmon does no damage.
Fernandez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Salmon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fernandez looks to land a combination but Salmon avoids it well.
Salmon changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Felix Fernandez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salmon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fernandez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Salmon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fernandez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salmon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fernandez looking for a triangle here. Salmon is fighting it but it looks tight! Fernandez pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Salmon is tapping out - this one is all over!
