The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbee throws an overhand right that lands on Ambrose's shoulder, as Ambrose tries to avoid the shot.
Ambrose is looking for a counter combo.

Ambrose drives through with a takedown into guard.
Barbee looking for a sweep. Not yet Barbee, not yet.
Ambrose looking to sit in guard and control but Barbee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Barbee stands up over Ambrose, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barbee slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ambrose tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barbee wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ambrose is not content to let Barbee control the position.

Barbee is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ambrose's shoulder. That is not cool.

Ambrose wants to get back to his feet but Barbee drags him back down.
Barbee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barbee postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Ambrose in real trouble here! The ref calls for Ambrose to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
