Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdullah Zaire (ranked 5674 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Gonzalez (ranked 5649 p4p, 659 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight stays on the outside here - Gonzalez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zaire napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gonzalez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gonzalez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Zaire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzalez on the ground.

Zaire looks for the body kick but Gonzalez saw that one coming.

Gonzalez is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Zaire with a body shot.

and Gonzalez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zaire won't be happy with that.
Zaire wants to control but Gonzalez postures up.
Nathan Gonzalez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Zaire is letting Gonzalez control him for a moment.
Gonzalez moves into full mount!
Zaire tries to improve his position but Gonzalez has taken his back! Gonzalez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Zaire tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gonzalez pushes Zaire away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Nathan Gonzalez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
