Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Kasperski (ranked 3295 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tetsuya Umino (ranked 4947 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dawid Kasperski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tetsuya Umino!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasperski shoots in looking for a takedown. Umino tries to sprawl out of it but Kasperski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Umino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Umino misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck for Kasperski with that takedown attempt.

Kasperski clinches up with Umino and pushes him back against the cage.
Kasperski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Umino wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kasperski is fighting off a takedown attempt but Umino is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kasperski to the mat. Kasperski regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Umino postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kasperski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Umino, into his guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Umino changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kasperski tries to avoid it but Umino manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kasperski to the ground. Kasperski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kasperski half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kasperski looks for a takedown but Umino sprawls well.
Umino has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kasperski shoots in for a takedown but Umino shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kasperski sets himself, and Umino steps forward looking for the clinch! Kasperski avoids it this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Umino tries to counter with a clinch but Kasperski shakes him off and moves away.

Kasperski slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Umino throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kasperski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Umino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kasperski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kasperski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kasperski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Umino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Umino wants to stand but Kasperski is controlling the position.
Kasperski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kasperski is really struggling to control Umino but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dawid Kasperski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Umino seems keen to control Kasperski's posture.

Umino wants to improve his position but instead Kasperski has moved into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Umino can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kasperski is looking to take a break and control but Umino is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Umino is trying to get back to full guard.
Umino is staying active underneath Kasperski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kasperski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kasperski is trying to control the action in half guard but Umino is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kasperski is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Umino doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kasperski.

Umino reaches up to try and control the position but Kasperski seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Umino rolls and tries to escape and now Kasperski has his back!

I think Kasperski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
