Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Chaos (ranked 330 p4p, 48 weight class) and Steve Butabi (ranked 195 p4p, 32 weight class). Chaos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face. Butabi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Make That Money kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Butabi! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chaos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Chaos working over Butabi with some ground and pound. Butabi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Chaos is looking to advance position but Butabi won't allow it. Chaos is thwarting Butabi's attempts to control the position. Chaos wants to take a breather but Butabi is having none of it. We've been hearing good reports from Chaos's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Chaos walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Chaos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Butabi as he jumps to the side. Chaos fails with the takedown. Chaos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Butabi to the mat! Butabi manages to get full guard. Butabi looking to control.

Butabi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chaos defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butabi has his foot on Chaos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chaos works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Butabi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chaos distracts Butabi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Chaos trying to control but Butabi is working from the bottom. Chaos throws a big elbow that misses. Max Chaos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chaos works a leg free and moves into half guard. Chaos lands a couple of good shots and Butabi has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Chaos is looking to control Butabi but Butabi is wriggling around and keeping busy. Chaos doesn't have the hooks in and Butabi manages to turn into his guard.

Chaos on the wrong end of a nice hook. Butabi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chaos. Butabi lands a lovely overhand right. Chaos shoots in and drives through. Butabi sprawls well. Chaos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Chaos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Butabi counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Chaos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice uppercut there from Butabi. Butabi fails in his attempt to clinch. Max Chaos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chaos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Butabi tries to avoid it but Chaos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Butabi to the ground. Butabi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Butabi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Butabi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chaos closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Butabi did well to prevent Chaos getting side control. Chaos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Butabi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Chaos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Butabi sees it coming and defends easily. Chaos tries to pass to full mount but Butabi defends it. Butabi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chaos pulls his head out easily. Butabi tries to get to full guard but Chaos has control of the leg. Chaos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butabi keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Butabi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Butabi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chaos is working away from the top position though. Butabi is in trouble now - Chaos has advanced to mount! Chaos breaks from Butabi's wrist control and lands an elbow. Butabi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Chaos working the ground and pound effectively.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chaos raining down shots from the mount! BOOM! Chaos connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Chaos wants to control the pace but Butabi is squirming around nicely. Chaos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Butabi's face.
Butabi tries to hold on but Chaos pushes him away. Butabi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Butabi postures up in Chaos's guard and throws a big left but Chaos blocks it. Butabi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chaos has his feet on Butabi's thighs here. He's pushed Butabi off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Butabi screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
