Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Dudley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Charlton! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charlton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dudley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dudley lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Charlton shoots in for a double leg but Dudley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Charlton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dudley finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Anthony Dudley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Charlton. Dudley gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dudley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Charlton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dudley defends it nicely. It appears Dudley was looking to counter with a kick there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Charlton throws a head kick that misses. Dudley has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dudley manages to break the clinch.
Dudley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Steven Charlton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Charlton drives through and clinches with Dudley against the cage.
Dudley tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Dudley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dudley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Charlton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dudley is fending him off so far but Charlton persists. Nope, Dudley circles away and we're back to standing. Dudley drops down looking for a counter takedown but Charlton sprawls and moves away. Dudley shoots in for a takedown but Charlton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Charlton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dudley to the mat! Dudley manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charlton wants to stand but Dudley has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Charlton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dudley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Charlton engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Charlton trying to control but Dudley is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dudley wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Charlton manages to pass to side control. Dudley tries to kick Charlton off but Charlton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Charlton trying to control the action but Dudley is working from the bottom. Dudley pushes Charlton off looking to stand but Charlton dives back in and keeps control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Charlton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dudley defends well and Charlton ends up having to push Dudley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Charlton pushes Dudley up against the cage in a clinch. Dudley drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dudley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Charlton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Dudley trying to keep a closed guard but Charlton is proving a slippery customer.
Charlton gets to his feet. Dudley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Dudley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Charlton fails with a takedown attempt from distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Dudley dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Dudley drives through and clinches with Charlton against the cage.
Dudley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dudley moves into range and clinches up with Charlton. Charlton tries for a takedown but Dudley manages to get underhooks.

Charlton is looking for a takedown. Dudley is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Dudley has had enough of the clinch but Charlton keeps him there for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dudley breaks from the clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Charlton or perhaps it was just good defense by Dudley, which made it look bad. Dudley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Charlton manages to circle out of the way. Anthony Dudley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Charlton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dudley takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Charlton clinches. Dudley tries to break free but Charlton pushes him back against the cage. Dudley wants to break the clinch but can't.
Charlton is looking for a takedown. Dudley breaks from the clinch.
Dudley closes the distance and clinches. Dudley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dudley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Charlton to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dudley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Charlton manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charlton trying to keep a closed guard but Dudley is proving a slippery customer.
Charlton controlling the position. Charlton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dudley is one step ahead there. Charlton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dudley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dudley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dudley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dudley content to stall in guard here. Charlton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dudley's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Charlton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dudley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Charlton is looking to work some ground and pound but Dudley has wrist control. Dudley being controlled here, momentarily. Charlton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Charlton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Charlton lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Anthony Dudley will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Charlton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Charlton is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Dudley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Charlton misses with a takedown attempt - Dudley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Charlton looking to score a takedown here. Dudley is defending well but Charlton drives through and ends up in Dudley's guard. Charlton controls from within his opponent's guard. Charlton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dudley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Charlton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Charlton wants to control from the top but Dudley keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charlton controlling from the top position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dudley keeping moving, preventing Charlton from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Charlton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dudley tries to avoid it but Charlton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dudley to the ground. Dudley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dudley darts in and clinches Charlton up against the cage. Dudley manages to break the clinch.
Charlton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dudley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anthony Dudley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dudley stuffs the takedown. Dudley attempts a counter takedown but Charlton avoids it well and moves away. Charlton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Charlton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Charlton is looking for a kimura but Dudley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Charlton to get the leverage. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dudley wants to control but Charlton is keeping busy.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Charlton decides to stand up. Steven Charlton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Anthony Dudley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Charlton dives in for a single leg takedown but Dudley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anthony Dudley. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dudley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
