Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cherry.
Cherry tries for a takedown but Werdm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Werdm! But no joy.
Cherry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Werdm as he jumps to the side.
Cherry fails in his attempt to clinch.
Werdm closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Werdm with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Werdm content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cherry trying to control but Werdm postures up.
Werdm working over Cherry with some ground and pound. Cherry looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Werdm works his foot free and advances to mount.
Werdm is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cherry to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cherry shrugs it off.
Werdm swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cherry is now in Werdm's guard. A big mistake from Werdm there, giving up the dominant position!

Werdm trying to keep a closed guard but Cherry is proving a slippery customer.

Werdm pulls Cherry in close to prevent any damage.
Cherry chips away with some ground and pound.
Werdm looking for a sweep. Not yet Werdm, not yet.

Werdm wants to stand but Cherry is controlling the position.
Cherry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Werdm is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Werdm fails with a takedown attempt.

Werdm throws an elbow that misses. Cherry uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Werdm's guard. Nice move by Cherry!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Werdm misses with a body kick.
As Werdm looks to move away, Cherry throws a big counter combo but Werdm just gets out of the way.
Cherry tries to clinch up.
Cherry shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Werdm's guard.
Cherry throws a big right hand that misses.
Cherry wants to control from the top but Werdm keeps moving.

Cherry throws a strike but Werdm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Werdm slips nicely into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Werdm connects with a nice short shot to Cherry's temple.

Werdm stalling.
Werdm is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Cherry is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
