Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mentor Guruland!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Nilsen!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nilsen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Guruland defends it nicely.
It looked like Guruland wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Guruland scores with a punch to the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nilsen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nilsen just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromGuruland.
Nilsen shoots in but Guruland avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guruland lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A jab from Guruland finds it's way through Nilsen's defenses.


It looks like Dennis Nilsen has been cut.
Guruland misses with the combination.

Guruland throws a good cross that connects.
Nilsen misses with a double jab
and Guruland counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nilsen misses with a straight right.
Nilsen tries to clinch up.
Guruland looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nilsen misses the body punch
and Guruland counters with a straight right hand.
Guruland lands the left hand.
Nilsen misses with a hook. Guruland ducked under it nicely.
Nilsen lands a jab to Guruland's midsection.
Nilsen scores with a jab to the jaw.
Nilsen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mentor Guruland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Nilsen.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Guruland enables Nilsen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Guruland manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Guruland is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guruland wanted to stand there but Nilsen had control of the position.
Guruland has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nilsen has his foot on Guruland's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guruland works his way back into a safe position though.

Guruland wants to stand but Nilsen is controlling his posture from full guard.

Nilsen wants to improve his position but instead Guruland has moved into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nilsen gets full guard.
Nilsen wants to sweep but no luck.

Guruland controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Nilsen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Guruland stacks Nilsen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Guruland!
Nilsen tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Guruland presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nilsen tries to control the position but Guruland now has his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nilsen misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Guruland connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Guruland.
Nilsen has his takedown stuffed
and Guruland cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nilsen throws an off balance right hand
and Guruland counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dennis Nilsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Guruland steps into range and cracks Nilsen with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Nilsen flops backwards and Guruland dives into his guard looking to finish!


Nilsen is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Guruland gets to his feet - Nilsen follows without any prompting.
Nilsen is still on wobbly legs! Can Guruland finish him?
Guruland weaves into range and cracks Nilsen right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Nilsen goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Guruland is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mentor Guruland!
Mentor Guruland retains his light heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Mentor Guruland started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
