Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Will (ranked 5027 p4p, 471 weight class) and Urban Legend (ranked 3779 p4p, 377 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Will!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Urban Legend!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Will goes for a double leg but Legend avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Legend continues to drive forward.
Legend connects with a good right hand that stumbles Will. Will circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Will doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Legend lands a stunning uppercut that sends Will to the mat!


Will is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Legend stalling.
Oh Will is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Will is trying to maintain the position but Legend is very close to passing his half guard.
Will is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Will seems to have got his legs back now.
Legend controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Legend clobbers Will with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Legend keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Will. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Legend drops Will with a nice combination! Legend dives into Will's guard, looking to finish!
Will trying to control the position.
Legend sitting in guard here, content to control.
Legend told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Will is trying to keep Legend in close.
Legend preventing the sweep.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Legend is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A jab-cross combination lands for Legend and sends Will crashing to the mat! Legend follows him down to the mat - Will regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Will trying to hold on to Legend's head to control him but Legend postures up.
Will tries to kick Legend off but Legend keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Will is looking for a sweep. Legend is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Will trying to control but Legend postures up.
Legend perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Will is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Legend's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Legend's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urban Legend dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Legend misses with a body kick.
A lazy left from Legend finds it's target.
Will shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Legend counters with a big uppercut that knocks Will off his feet! Legend dives into side control looking to finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Will is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Will being controlled for a moment.
Will is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Will takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Legend is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Will knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Will sneaks back into half guard.
Will is looking for a sweep. Legend is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Legend is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Legend is thwarting Will's attempts to control the position.
Legend controlling the pace.
Will is looking to improve his position.
Will wants to control but Legend is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Legend with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Will.

Legend throws a left that rocks Will and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Legend dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Will regain composure!
Legend taking a breather here.
A control attempt from Will but he's now mounted!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Legend takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Will is desperately trying to improve his position but Legend has a good base and remains in mount.
Legend controlling from the full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Will is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urban Legend showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Legend misses with a body punch
and Will counters with a stiff right hand.
Will fails with the takedown
letting Legend counter with a right hand.
Will shoots in and drives through. Legend sprawls well.
It seemed like Legend was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Will with a poor takedown
and Legend counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Will. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Legend lands with a shot to the body.
Legend drops Will with a naaaaasty hook - Will is in real trouble here! Legend dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urban Legend!
Urban Legend decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
