Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erik Hiller (ranked 4109 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chief Thunder Rolls (ranked 4943 p4p, 488 weight class). Hiller comes to the cage accompanied by Rush and Run - Shake and Jump. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Thunder Rolls!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiller fails with a takedown attempt.

Hiller has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hiller lands a nice uppercut.

Thunder Rolls wants the takedown. Hiller is fighting it off but Thunder Rolls persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hiller's guard against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiller tries to strike from the bottom.

Hiller is looking for a triangle but Thunder Rolls pushes his legs off easily.

Hiller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thunder Rolls doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thunder Rolls manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hiller is trying to keep Thunder Rolls in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hiller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hiller seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Thunder Rolls throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hiller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hiller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thunder Rolls's guard.

Hiller seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Thunder Rolls escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hiller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hiller engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hiller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Thunder Rolls for as long as he can get away with.

Thunder Rolls looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hiller has picked Thunder Rolls up and slammed him! Thunder Rolls can't keep hold of the triangle and Hiller manages to pass to side control!
Hiller cracks Thunder Rolls with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Hiller is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thunder Rolls knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hiller takes a little break here. Thunder Rolls wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Thunder Rolls is looking for a sweep.
Hiller is looking to take a break and control but Thunder Rolls is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Thunder Rolls's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hiller has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Thunder Rolls working to try and regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hiller scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hiller lands a big elbow.


Thunder Rolls is rocked!

Hiller working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Thunder Rolls turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hiller off and cradles Thunder Rolls's limp body as Hiller celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Erik Hiller!
Erik Hiller got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
