The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gardner tries to kick Polo off in order to stand up. Polo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Polo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Polo stands up and beckons Gardner to his feet.
Polo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Polo works his way into side control.
Gardner tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gardner is trying to get back to his feet but Polo has full control of the position and if anything, Gardner has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gardner is trying to defend against the choke here but Polo has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Polo Tightens the hold and Gardner taps out furiously! Polo displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
