Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Otto (ranked 5928 p4p, 509 weight class) and Tom Harper (ranked 5839 p4p, 497 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harper rushes Otto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Otto wants a takedown but no success here.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Harper continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Otto ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Otto no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Otto is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Otto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harper has managed to get both his arms back between Otto's legs - danger averted.
Harper is working Otto over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Otto drops back looking for a leg! Harper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harper manages to kick Otto off! Otto jumps back into Harper's guard.

Harper has his hands on Otto's head, controlling the position.
Otto wants to pass the guard but Harper is keeping the position.
Harper is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Otto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Otto wants to control from the top but Harper keeps moving.
Otto is fighting to break Harper's control of his arms but Harper is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Harper can't keep his opponent in guard - Otto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Otto is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Harper sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Otto wants to control but Harper is keeping him busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Harper clinches.
A left hand lands to the body for Otto.
Otto has Harper pressed against the cage.
Otto is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Otto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee calls for Harper to work.
Harper dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The crowd are getting on Harper's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Otto jumps guard and drags Harper to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Otto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Otto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harper can do to turn this around?

Otto is pushing down on Harper's leg trying to pass to half guard. Harper is fighting to maintain full guard but Otto has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Otto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Otto mounts Harper! Really nice guard pass there!
Harper tries to lock up and control but Otto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Harper is squirming around, avoiding Otto's attempts to control the action.

Otto looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Otto is trying to take his opponent's back.

Otto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Harper has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Harper defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Otto.

Otto has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Harper is forced to tap!
