Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Salahdine Parnasse (ranked 3372 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Edwards (ranked 4582 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Salahdine Parnasse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ethan Edwards!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parnasse closes the distance looking to clinch
and Edwards counters with a slapping leg kick.
Parnasse moves in looking to clinch but Edwards pushes him off.
Edwards keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Edwards throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Parnasse tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Edwards is in Parnasse's guard.
Edwards throws an elbow that misses. Parnasse uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edwards's guard. Nice move by Parnasse!


Parnasse drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parnasse jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edwards scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Parnasse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Edwards pinned against the cage. Edwards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

No luck for Parnasse with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salahdine Parnasse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parnasse misses the shot to the body.
Edwards tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Parnasse gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edwards to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Parnasse has his foot on Edwards's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edwards works his way back into a safe position though.
Edwards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parnasse works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Edwards got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parnasse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Edwards has managed to get both his arms back between Parnasse's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parnasse is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Edwards is controlling him.

Edwards gets to his feet - Parnasse follows without any prompting.
Edwards throws a leg kick that misses.

and Edwards counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Parnasse!
You can see the frustration on Parnasse's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Parnasse tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Edwards presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Parnasse is trying to escape the mount.

Edwards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parnasse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Edwards postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Parnasse looks a forlorn figure.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Edwards shoots in for a double leg but Parnasse sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Parnasse.

Edwards gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Parnasse is looking to break free of the clinch but Edwards has double underhooks.
Edwards wants to take the fight to the mat but Parnasse manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Parnasse tries to circle away but Edwards has him pinned against the cage.
Edwards tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Salahdine Parnasse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Edwards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Parnasse gets caught flat footed, as Edwards shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwards throws an elbow that misses. Parnasse uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edwards's guard. Nice move by Parnasse!

Parnasse is fighting to break Edwards's control of his arms but Edwards is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Edwards is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Edwards has control of Parnasse's left arm, preventing Parnasse from doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Edwards wants to sweep but no luck.

Edwards pulls Parnasse in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Edwards manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Parnasse on his heels. He'll look to pass Parnasse's guard now, I'm sure.

Parnasse creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Parnasse wants to lay and pray for a moment but Edwards keeps working.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edwards can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ethan Edwards is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Edwards is desperately trying to improve his position but Parnasse has a good base and remains in mount.

Well Edwards has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
