Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Medium Lau (ranked 5674 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test One (ranked 5986 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Test One!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Test One has been cut.
Medium Lau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lau takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Lau feints and as One raises his hands in defense, Lau changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lau passes One's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lau wants to pass to mount but One is defending the position.
Lau seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lau wants to pass the guard but One is defending well.

Lau slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
One ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
One throws an off balance right hand
and Lau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lau dips to his left and cracks One with an uppercut!
Lau cracks One with a right hand to the side of the head.
One throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lau closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lau lands in his opponent's guard.
Lau tries to free his leg and advance position but One is retaining full guard.

One wants to stand and escape but Lau is having none of it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. One swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
One throws a hook but Lau avoids it easily.
One shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

One moves out of range of the strikes.
One tries to clinch but Lau is having none of it.
Lau defending well as One loads up on a big left hand.
One staying out of range there.
Lau scores with a crisp jab that stopped One in his tracks.
One smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
One tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lau swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lau moves away from the strike by One.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lau closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

One pushes Lau away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lau gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lau cracks One with a right hand to the side of the head.

Lau dives in and scores a takedown into One's guard.
Lau controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lau seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down One for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lau has One pulled in close to control his posture.
Lau has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lau's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lau has a closed guard, preventing One from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

One gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lau slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

One gets tackled into the cage by Lau. Lau maintains the clinch.
Lau lands with a right to the head.
One misses with the head strike.
A head punch on the inside from One fails to land.
One misses with a shot to the kidneys.
One's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Lau scores with a hook to the body.
One is breathing heavily.
Lau lands a hook to the side of the head.
One tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Medium Lau dominated that second round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


One just misses with a punch to the body.
Lau just misses with a punch to the body.
One throws a hook but Lau blocks it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from One enables Lau to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. One manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

One can't keep his opponent in guard - Lau advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lau is pressing down on One's thigh, looking to free his foot. One is holding on for now.

Lau continues to stall.

Lau is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down One's shoulder. That is not cool.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lau bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Lau throws a lazy right hand but One sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
One throws out a counter right but Lau avoids it with no problem.

and Lau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lau is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Lau looks to land a right hand but One moved out of range.
A little jabbing left from One on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Lau lands a straight punch to the body, keeping One at a distance.
Lau misses with an uppercut. One saw that one coming.

One uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lau.
One scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

One tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lau was well out of range. Poor timing from One.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Medium Lau showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lau has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
