Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Carmichael (ranked 3868 p4p, 393 weight class) and Leo Granite (ranked 4598 p4p, 451 weight class). Charles Carmichael is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Carmichael ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Granite! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Granite doesn't manage to clinch there - Carmichael circles away.
Granite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carmichael circles away quickly and effectively. Granite misses with a hook. Carmichael ducked under it nicely. Carmichael feinted with a counter takedown. A right-left combo lands from Carmichael .
It looks like Leo Granite has been cut. Granite looks to throw the jab but Carmichael is out of range. Carmichael tests Granite's chin there with a solid looking shot. Carmichael dodges the punch combination from Granite.
Carmichael works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Granite misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carmichael .
No luck for Granite with that takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Granite. Granite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carmichael circles away quickly and effectively. Granite shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carmichael napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carmichael pushes Granite away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Granite gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Granite taking a breather here. Granite tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carmichael is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Granite is staying tight to Carmichael 's torso, preventing him from escaping. We've been hearing good reports from Carmichael 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Carmichael wants to get back to his feet. Carmichael on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carmichael tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Granite is looking to take a break and control but Carmichael is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Granite is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Carmichael will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Granite wants to control but Carmichael is keeping him busy.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Carmichael takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Granite shoots for a takedown but Carmichael saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Charles Carmichael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Granite. Carmichael displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Granite. Granite takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carmichael throws a series of punches but Granite moves out of range. Carmichael punishes Granite's body with a nice straight punch. Nice straight punches there by Carmichael . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carmichael . The fight moves into the clinch position. Granite wants a takedown but no success here.
Granite taking a breather. Granite pressing his opponent against the cage. Granite continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Carmichael 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carmichael uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Granite has time to react. Granite gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carmichael breaks from the clinch.
Carmichael lands a nice shot to the body.
Carmichael scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The fight stays on the outside here - Granite looks like he's thinking about clinching though. No joy there for Granite, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Granite is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Granite takes a jab right on the kisser.
Granite tries to clinch but Carmichael moves out of range. Granite throws a series of punches but Carmichael moves out of range. Granite shoots in but Carmichael avoids the takedown attempt easily. Granite tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carmichael was well out of range. Poor timing from Granite. A swing and a miss from Granite. Granite throws a shot from downtown. Carmichael moves away and avoids it. Carmichael goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jab from Carmichael . Granite takes one to the chin there. Granite takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Granite gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Carmichael gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Granite is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Carmichael !
