Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mungo Jerry (ranked 4193 p4p, 423 weight class) and Juan Mendes (ranked 24856 p4p, 667 weight class). Mungo Jerry has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mungo Jerry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mendes tries to pass to full mount but Jerry defends it.
Jerry is trying to stand back up but Mendes is controlling him
Jerry wants to control but Mendes is keeping busy.
Jerry has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Mendes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jerry keeps working.
Jerry tries to kick Mendes off but Mendes keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendes wants to pass the guard but Jerry is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jerry lands a left and a right that send Mendes crashing to the mat, dazed. Jerry thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Mendes is rocked!
Jerry connects with a nice cross there... Mendes is looking wobbly and Jerry recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Mendes to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Jerry jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
