Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pale Johnson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ayers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. Ayers working the ground and pound but Johnson is defending the strikes. Ayers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ayers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Ayers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Ayers has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jeff Ayers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ayers moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Ayers gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson tries to get to full guard but Ayers has control of the leg.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Johnson is pressing down on Ayers's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Johnson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ayers. Ayers is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jeff Ayers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ayers is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ayers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Ayers stops Johnson from standing up. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around? Ayers scoring with punches to the head and body. Ayers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Johnson striking off his back but it's not causing Ayers any problems. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ayers's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ayers is working the ground and pound from guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ayers cracks Johnson with a solid left hand. Ayers lands a couple of decent looking shots. Pale Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jeff Ayers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ayers is aware though and is defending well.
