Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tim Lincekum (ranked 3238 p4p, 131 weight class) and Koko Pinea (ranked 1758 p4p, 73 weight class). Lincekum's entrance music is BYOB. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Lincekum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koko Pinea! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinea darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Pinea lands strikes from half guard. Pinea with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Lincekum wants to improve his position but Pinea is controlling well.
Pinea takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lincekum is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Grind Time [ *Double Elite Coaches], so we'll see if he gets out of it. Lincekum gets full guard. Lincekum managing to control the position. Lincekum wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lincekum utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lincekum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lincekum tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinea is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Lincekum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lincekum trying to control the position.
Pinea keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lincekum's head. Pinea trying to control the position from guard on top but Lincekum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pinea trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Koko Pinea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pinea connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Lincekum staying out of range there. Lincekum misses with a straight left. Lincekum avoids the body shot from Pinea.
Lincekum swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A jab from Lincekum misses. Pinea thows a left - swing and a miss! Lincekum misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Pinea looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lincekum seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Pinea lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Pinea throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lincekum throws a hook to the side of Pinea's head but Pinea sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pinea clinches. Lincekum tries a knee to the head but Pinea blocks it.

Lincekum throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pinea blocks it with crossed arms. Pinea changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lincekum fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lincekum throws a jab when Pinea was well out of range. Lincekum looks to land a right hand but Pinea moved out of range. Pinea looks to land a left hand but Lincekum moved out of range nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! No luck for Pinea with that takedown attempt. Lincekum appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tim Lincekum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koko Pinea. Lincekum lands a slapping body shot.
Lincekum throws a hook but Pinea avoids it easily. Pinea tries to clinch but Lincekum is having none of it. Pinea misses with a body shot.

Tim Lincekum is winning the standup battle so far. Pinea fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Lincekum throws out a loose jab but Pinea uses good head movement to avoid it. Pinea wants to counter the offense by Lincekum and move into the clinch position. Lincekum takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pinea lands with a straight right. Lincekum didn't see that one coming. A thudding body kick lands there by Pinea!
Pinea tries to close the distance and clinch but Lincekum swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A swing and a miss from Lincekum. Pinea ducks under a wild hook from Lincekum. Pinea cracks Lincekum with a right hand to the side of the head. Pinea drives through and clinches with Lincekum against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A head punch blocked on the inside by Lincekum. Pinea throws a head punch that misses. Pinea misses with some punches.

Pinea controls Lincekum momentarily but Lincekum frees himself. Pinea lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lincekum pulls Pinea in to control the position. Lincekum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pinea is one step ahead there. Lincekum not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Koko Pinea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pinea rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lincekum moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lincekum missing with a left hand there. Pinea was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pinea closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lincekum circles away. Tim Lincekum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koko Pinea. The fight stays on the outside here - Pinea looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
