Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Lennon (ranked 429 p4p, 55 weight class) and Tom Thomas (ranked 818 p4p, 100 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lennon slips a straight right by Thomas.
Thomas throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lennon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lennon works Thomas's body with a nice hook.
Thomas throws a hook but Lennon avoids it easily.
Lennon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Lennon fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Thomas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thomas thows a left - swing and a miss!

John Lennon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It seemed like Thomas was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Thomas scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lennon in his tracks.

Lennon ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.
Thomas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lennon. Lennon obviously looking to wear him down.
Lennon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Thomas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lennon's head.
Lennon pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thomas back to the cage. Lennon follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Thomas is rocked!
Lennon lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Thomas is looking to close the distance but Lennon sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Thomas crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Thomas is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). John Lennon!
A relieved looking John Lennon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
