And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Khabbib fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spartak sprawls well initially but Al Khabbib persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Al Khabbib not doing much here.
Al Khabbib is trying to control the action in half guard but Spartak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spartak can do anything to dispel that myth.
Al Khabbib is looking for a kimura but Spartak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Al Khabbib to get the leverage.
Spartak wants to improve his position but Al Khabbib is controlling well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Al Khabbib is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Spartak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Al Khabbib. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Al Khabbib wants to work for an arm triangle but Spartak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Al Khabbib trying to mount his opponent but Spartak defends it.
Al Khabbib is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Spartak has a hand on Al Khabbib's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Al Khabbib takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Al Khabbib is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Al Khabbib extends the arm and Spartak is forced to tap!
