Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Willis (ranked 5788 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davion Motley (ranked 5176 p4p, 0 weight class). Davion Motley is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Willis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davion Motley!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Willis scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Danga de danga de dang - Willis scores with a four punch combination!
A head kick misses from Willis.
Motley tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Motley slips a jab and a cross from Willis.
Willis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Motley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Willis tries to sprawl but Motley drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Motley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Willis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Motley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Motley has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Motley prevents Willis from standing back up.
Motley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Motley stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Willis to get to his feet.

Motley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Willis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Motley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Willis digs a good body shot into Motley's ribs.

Motley drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Motley with a nice head shot there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Motley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Motley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Motley connects with a couple of short punches.
Motley engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Motley cracks Willis with a solid left hand.
Motley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.


Willis is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Motley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Oh Willis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Motley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Willis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Motley on the ground.
Willis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Motley controls the pace.
Willis seems to have got his legs back now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Motley distracts Willis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Motley controlling from the top position.
Motley chips away with some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Motley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Motley loads up on a big left hand. Willis felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Motley looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Willis can't hide his disappointment, as Motley celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Davion Motley!
