Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eren Jaeger ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Beltran! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beltran shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jaeger is trying to defend but Beltran finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jaeger is trying to maintain the position but Beltran is very close to passing his half guard. Beltran thows a huge punch but Jaeger dodges it nicely.
Jaeger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaeger tries to get out of the position. Beltran seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jaeger is looking to improve his position.
Jaeger is looking to escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jaeger wants to get back to full guard. Jaeger is trying to stand back up but Beltran is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Jaeger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Beltran is working away from the top position though. Beltran tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jaeger controls his leg. Jaeger wants to control but Beltran is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jaeger pushes Beltran off looking to stand but Beltran dives back in and keeps control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Beltran scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jaeger wants to get back to full guard. Jaeger is looking to control Beltran's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jaeger avoid being mounted? Nice strikes from Beltran there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jaeger is trying to get back to full guard. Beltran decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Beltran throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jaeger counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Beltran thinking. Jaeger fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Beltran to the ground. Jaeger is now in Beltran's guard. Jaeger missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jaeger wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving. Jaeger loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jaeger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jaeger looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Jaeger trying to control the position from guard on top but Beltran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Beltran uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jaeger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jaeger . Beltran looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jaeger appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beltran throws a head kick that misses. Jaeger is looking to counter with a body kick. Horrible takedown attempt by Beltran or perhaps it was just good defense by Jaeger , which made it look bad. Jaeger seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Beltran misses with a double jab.
Beltran tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A right-left combo lands from Beltran.
It looks like Eren Jaeger has been cut. Jaeger fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eren Jaeger . That's going to take a lot out of him. Jaeger darts in looking for a takedown but Beltran gets double underhooks and turns Jaeger into the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jaeger takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Beltran, right into the meat.
Beltran shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jaeger is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Beltran dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eren Jaeger 's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A head kick misses from Beltran. Jaeger tries to counter with a takedown but Beltran is quick to defend against it. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Beltran! Jaeger is out on his feet! Beltran rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jaeger is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jaeger is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Beltran! Carlos Beltran tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
