0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masakazu Aoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aoki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pettis to the ground. Aoki is now in Pettis's guard. Pettis keeping full guard, as Aoki tries to pass. Aoki passes Pettis's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Pettis controlling the position for now. Aoki is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pettis has managed to free his arm - good work. Aoki tries to pass to full mount but Pettis defends it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pettis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aoki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pettis sees it coming and defends easily. Aoki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Aoki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pettis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Aoki wants to take a breather but Pettis is having none of it. Aoki in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pettis tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Aoki!
