Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matteus Luther! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy Tyson! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luther shoots in for a double leg but Tyson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Luther looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Luther misses with a wild body shot. Nice takedown defense from Tyson. No joy for Luther on that attempt. Luther gets caught flat footed, as Tyson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tyson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Tyson pushing down on Luther's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Tyson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Luther is just riding it out for now. Tyson eventually gives up the hold. Tyson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Tyson seems to be working for a kimura but Luther defends the submission attempt. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tyson lands a nice short elbow. Tyson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Tyson is working for a kimura but Luther is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Tyson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tyson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Luther doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tyson. Tyson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Luther sees it coming and defends easily. Tyson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Tyson is looking for a kimura but Luther is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tyson to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Tyson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tyson is tying to control. Luther wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Troy Tyson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Luther stuffs the takedown attempt from Tyson. Tyson gets slowly back to his feet. Matteus Luther seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tyson throws a series of strikes that have Luther backpedaling.
Luther with a poor takedown so Tyson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matteus Luther. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyson controlling from the top position. Tyson drops back looking for a leg! Luther is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Luther manages to kick Tyson off! Tyson jumps back into Luther's guard. Luther throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tyson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Tyson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tyson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tyson lands in his opponent's guard. Tyson is stalling in the full guard. Tyson stands and throws Luther's legs to the side, diving into side control. Tyson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tyson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

After a battle for position, Tyson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Tyson trying to control the position but Luther is working away. That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tyson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Luther is letting Tyson control him for a moment. Luther manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tyson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tyson. Luther has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Luther preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Tyson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Luther gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tyson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Luther would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tyson trying to keep a closed guard but Luther is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyson managing to control the position. Tyson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Tyson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Tyson looks for a takedown but Luther sprawls well. Matteus Luther is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Luther misses with a jab, cross combination.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tyson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Luther's head.

Tyson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Luther manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tyson has Luther in his guard. Luther wanted to stand there but Tyson had control of the position. Luther wants to stand and escape but instead Tyson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Luther can't keep his opponent in guard - Tyson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Luther is looking for a sweep. Tyson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tyson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Matteus Luther has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Luther is pressing down on Tyson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tyson is stalling in the full guard. Luther is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tyson dives into side control.
Tyson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Luther tries to bench press Tyson off him but Tyson keeps the position. Luther tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tyson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Tyson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Luther is trying to escape the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Troy Tyson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tyson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
