1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, daniel cook! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! cook takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like daniel cook has been cut. cook looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! cook misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. cook closes the distance and clinches up with Daniels, looking for a takedown. cook pushes Daniels against the cage but Daniels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Daniels lands a head kick. cook smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Daniels throws a head kick that half lands.
Daniels closes the distance and clinches. Daniels lands an elbow inside. Daniels pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Daniels pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daniels lands a high kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says cook as he avoids it easily. Daniels looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for cook! Daniels controlling the position easily from mount. Daniels can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as cook is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels landing strikes from the mount. Daniels has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Daniels punishing his opponent with strikes. Daniels trying to control but cook is having none of it. Daniels swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
