PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bahn Dai (ranked 6205 p4p, 203 weight class) and Weird Eric (ranked 5950 p4p, 191 weight class). Eric comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Every You, Every Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dai scores with a jab. Eric acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Dai fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Eric looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Weird Eric has been cut.
Dai could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dai connects with a single shot there.
Dai missing with a left hand there. Eric was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A jab lands there for Dai.
Eric blocks a jab.
Dai throws a hook to the side of Eric's head but Eric sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Eric unleashes a big counter combination but Dai bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

The fighters circling - Dai throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bahn Dai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eric fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Dai is breathing heavily.

Dai rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Eric counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Eric thows a left - swing and a miss!

Eric clinches up against the cage.
Eric lands a hook that snaps the head of Dai backwards.

Eric pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Eric throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Eric sends Dai crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Eric is motioning to the referee to let Dai up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Dai is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bahn Dai dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dai is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Eric.
Eric takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

A short body shot lands from Eric as the two fighters clinch.

Eric pushes Dai off and gets back to his feet.

Eric looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Eric takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Eric fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dai manages to avoid it.

Bahn Dai is winning the standup battle so far.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Eric! But no joy.

Eric feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dai sprawling to the canvas! Dai rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Eric finish him?!
Oh Dai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dai throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Eric sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Eric looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Eric throws a low kick but Dai avoids it.
Dai seems to have got his legs back now.
Dai throws a jab but it's blocked by Eric.
Eric slips under a jab.
Eric avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Eric drops Dai with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dai looks back up at him and smiles so Eric waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Eric moves away from the strike by Dai.

Dai throws a series of punches but Eric moves out of range.
Eric misses with a looping right.
Eric ducks under a wild hook from Dai.
