Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joao Neves (ranked 5000 p4p, 151 weight class) and Full Time Panda (ranked 5328 p4p, 196 weight class). Full Time Panda has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Joao Neves's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joao Neves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Full Time Panda!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Panda closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Neves is trying to stand.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Panda working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Panda is taking a breather. Neves says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Panda has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Panda in particular looking to stall.

Neves leaves Panda with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Panda looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Neves with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Panda is nestled in close to Neves, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Panda shoots in looking for a takedown but Neves manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Panda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
