Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Siva Tavau (ranked 2070 p4p, 199 weight class) and Wolfgang Übensplikt (ranked 1596 p4p, 162 weight class). Tavau comes to the cage accompanied by In the Air Tonight. Übensplikt has chosen More Than Nothing as his entrance music. Wolfgang Übensplikt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wolfgang Übensplikt! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Übensplikt scores with a jab to the body. Übensplikt fails to land with a series of punches.
Übensplikt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tavau was well out of range. Poor timing from Übensplikt. Übensplikt misses with a hook
and Tavau counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Übensplikt! You can see the frustration on Übensplikt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Tavau. Tavau goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Übensplikt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tavau's guard! Nice work there by Übensplikt! Tavau has Übensplikt pulled in close to control his posture. Übensplikt is working Tavau over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Tavau trying to keep a closed guard but Übensplikt is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tavau seems keen to control Übensplikt's posture. Übensplikt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tavau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Übensplikt preventing the sweep. Tavau looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Übensplikt is looking to pass into half guard but Tavau pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Tavau is in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Übensplikt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Tavau trying to control but Übensplikt is working from the bottom. Übensplikt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tavau's guard.
Übensplikt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tavau is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
